Microsoft is working to deliver a full solution

The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is saying that the streaming system which will allow users of the home console to stream their video games to the PC is designed to offer a lot of flexibility to gamers and the final version can be employed even when the device is also used to watch TV through the HDMI port.

The information comes from Phil Spencer, the leader of the division working on the gaming platform, who has answered a question from a user on Twitter.

It seems that his team is still working on the feature and might need more time before it manages to create the complex setup required to stream from the Xbox One to the PC while also watching TV.

Previously, the company also said that it was aiming to offer full 1080p and 60 FPS quality for the streams but also admitted that at that moment only 720p could be delivered.

Microsoft has not said when it plans to introduce the range of features that are designed to better integrate gaming on the Xbox One and the PC, but it will probably be delivered later in the year, when Windows 10 is also rolled out to all users.

Until then, a range of features will be added in February to all those who are members of the preview program and who are expected to test the concepts and offer feedback so that they can be improved in the long term.

Despite some solid sales in the past few months, the Microsoft home console is still lagging behind the PlayStation 4 from Sony when it comes to overall sales.

Adding streaming and introducing more integration with Windows 10 might be a good selling point for the Microsoft device.

But the primary driver for sales for the coming months will be the price of the platform, which has gone down to 349 dollars (269 Euro) for the foreseeable future in the United States.

For the time being, it’s unclear whether Sony has plans to respond in kind and to also introduce a price cut for the PlayStation 4, or maybe introduce new bundles that will prove more attractive to gamers.
