The offer is only available until the end of February

The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is announcing yet another major promotion associated with the home console, which is at the moment offered to all those who are part of the Xbox Live Rewards Program for the price of 349 dollars (269 Euro) and with the ability to choose one free game from a line-up including Titanfall, Madden NFL 15, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4.

The official store site shows how the offer works and it seems that gamers can choose to also get Assassin's Creed for free or they can stick to the classic Xbox One package.

The offer is only available to members of the Xbox Live Rewards program until February 28, so those interested need to move fast to take advantage of it.

The entire concept is very similar to one that Microsoft used for the Xbox One during the holiday period, which probably means that the move was a success and the company is eager to use the same strategy in order to deliver more hardware to potential customers.

During both November and December, the platform performed well with a price cut, while in January sales fell when the cost of the device was pushed back up.

Since then, Microsoft has decided to take the price of the Xbox One down once again, to 349 dollars (269 Euro), in its non-Kinect incarnation.

Sales are crucial in 2015

Despite the lower price, the console has failed to sell better than the PlayStation 4 from Sony during January in the United States, although stats show the gamers spend more time with it and its associated games than ever.

Recently, a rumor revealed that Microsoft might be preparing to open up the application ecosystem for the Xbox One in November of this year, with a Software Development Kit coming in May and with a switch offered to those who want to use their devices for development.

All these initiatives, both short and long term, are designed to make the device more attractive to potential customers, as the race to lead the current generation sharpens after the big sales of late 2013 and 2014, which were largely driven by the fact that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were new and full of promise.
