Microsoft has just rolled out a new beta preview version of its upcoming Xbox One May system software update, this time bringing an oft-requested feature that allows players in a Party to still leave voice messages without having to exit the group.

The Xbox One console has been around for quite some time now, and while its sales figures haven't always been that impressive, Microsoft support for the device hasn't wavered, as the corporation keeps releasing monthly firmware updates to enrich its suite of features and enhance its capabilities.

After the solid April update that arrived last month, Microsoft currently has the May version in the beta preview program. Already an early version of the firmware launched for participants in the program, bringing a few bug fixes, and now a fresh build is being rolled out as we speak.

Xbox One May beta update brings new voice messaging capabilities

The main feature of the latest Xbox One firmware build, via DualShockers, is the possibility to leave voice messages while in a party with your friends. Previously, owners of the console were forced to leave the party in order to record and send a voice message to another user. Now, after plenty of pleas from fans, Microsoft has modified the situation.

Besides the new feature, this fresh firmware update also brings a few fixes to the USB TV tuner channel scanning system, as apparently Xbox One owners in the U.S. or Canada who connected a digital TV tuner to their console encountered issues when scanning for channels.

As of right now, the Xbox One May update beta preview still has some glitches and you can expect Microsoft to continue fixing them until next month, when the new firmware is set to go live.

Xbox Live Preview program participants can already download the new build. Expect to see a few more updates until next month, with other interesting features and bug fixes.
