Changes to the Stronghold mode will be implemented too

Wargaming.net, owner of the World of Tanks franchise, is currently testing a new update for its MMO game, which is supposed to land in the coming days.

Update 9.6 is currently being tested and developers will probably release it soon, but for those who haven’t been able to check it out while in beta, here are some of the most important changes it will bring.

First of all, tank destroyers will be rebalanced by changing the view ranges. This means that a low-level tank destroyer won’t have the same view range as a level 9, so it won’t be able to stand on its own in a fight with a higher level tank.

Developers also confirmed that, once Update 9.6 gets released, players will be able change the roles of their crew members. For example, a commander can be retrained to have another qualification like gunner and vice-versa, or a loader can become a radio operator. Any combination will be possible after the update.

Some new HD models for various vehicles will be added as well. These are the ones that have been confirmed up until now: Löwe, Ferdinand, E 100, Tiger (P), T95, Object 704, and AMX 50 B.

Combat reserves will be implemented and tanks accuracy will be decreased

Moving on to Stronghold modes, these fights will become more interesting with the addition of combat reserves. This means that players will be able to direct an artillery strike or call in air support.

The effectiveness of these reserves will depend on its level and are supposed to be of major help to the team that owns them.

The accuracy of tanks will be changed as well with fewer hits going into the red circle now. For example, when a tank drives, rotates its turret, and then shoots, and the shell goes right in the middle of the aiming circle, these situations will be very rare in Update 9.6.

The decrease accuracy to tanks will also lead to fewer hits in the weaker spots, thus allowing tanks with good armor and few weak spots to survive more on the battlefield.

There’s a huge list of bug fixes and improvements that developers plan to implement in Update 9.6, but for the full changelog make sure to read the official patch notes.
