With Wolfenstein: The Old Blood set to be launched in two weeks, the development team at MachineGames and publisher Bethesda are ready to offer a little more details on the prequel for The New Order and reveal some of the new included features.

Gamers who get the title when May 5 rolls around will be able to play through two campaigns, called Rudi Jager and the Den of Wolves and The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, with both set to deliver eight chapters filled with action and combat.

Jerk Gustafsson, the executive producer for The Old Blood, tells the official site that the prequel is designed to expand the entire universe.

John Jennings, a senior producer, explains, "We get to explore things that were only hinted at in New Order. We get to find out what the Nazis were up to, and reveal a little bit about how they got some of this advanced technology that let them win World War II."

MachineGames maintains that it has not recycled any content for The Old Blood, which means gamers will deal with new enemies and will use new ways to move around the environment.

The pipe is designed to offer more options for silent takedowns and a way to gain access to new areas.

Because The Old  Blood revisits the same location as Return to Castle, Wolfenstein gamers will meet some characters they already know, but the biggest surprise is the return of undead enemies, some of which use rifles.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is more than standard DLC

One area where the new content will not match The New Order is the storytelling, which is more limited because the developers are focused on creating cool action moments.

MachineGames was also worried about spoilers and created separate stories in order to make sure that players can play the two titles in any order without gaining the knowledge they would rather avoid.

The development team says that it even voiced a number of drunken Nazis singing in a tavern in order to increase the realism level of the title.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is set to be offered on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.
