Alexandre Julliard announced the immediate availability for download and testing of a new maintenance release of Wine 1.7.41, which brings better support for kernel job objects, improves MSI patches, enhanced support for Known Folders in the shell, and fixes theming issues.

Wine can now correctly handle UNIX group permissions

In addition to the above, Wine 1.7.41 can now correctly handle UNIX group permissions, patches an issue with the Valgrind debugger, addresses the "small line" problem that appears in the progress bar of the GOG.com installer, and repairs sound recording.

Some graphical issues in Assassin's Creed's menus and in-game were addressed, and the 'schannel failed to setup sequence detection' issues has been repaired in several games and application that failed to connect via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), including Darkfall, ARMA II multiplayer, and the Desura client.
