Windows Phone market share stagnates even though Microsoft is launching new smartphones almost every month. The Redmond-based company has decided to cover the low- to mid-range market with its devices until it releases the next version of Windows Phone.

With the latest AdDuplex statistics for March 2015, we now take a peek of how Microsoft affected the Windows Phone market with the latest smartphone releases.

First of all, unsurprisingly, it looks like about 60% of all the Windows Phone devices launched by Microsoft consist of affordable smartphones like Lumia 520, Lumia 530, Lumia 535, Lumia 620, Lumia 625, Lumia 630 and Lumia 635.

Given the fact that Microsoft continues to launch entry-level smartphones to gain as many customers as possible, the percentage of affordable handsets will continue to increase over the next few months.

Some of the newest high-end smartphones are not even mentioned

When it comes to high-end Windows Phones, the most spread amongst users is the Lumia 920, followed by Lumia 925. There's no mention of Lumia 830, Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520, which are newer smartphones, but did not manage to attain higher selling numbers to be mentioned in the statistics.

Of all the Windows Phone handsets available on the market, about 70% of them are running Windows Phone 8.1, while 20.6% are still stuck on Windows Phone 8.0. There's also a small 8.4% percent of people that still own Windows Phone 7.x devices.

Since Microsoft released Windows 10 Technical Preview, about 0.1% of users have installed the new version of the OS on their compatible smartphones.

These numbers represent a 3.2% increase in devices running Windows Phone 8.1 and a 0.1% decline in smartphones running Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Obviously, Microsoft/Nokia has remained the main handset manufacturer that launches Windows Phone handsets with a 96.43% market share, followed by HTC with 1.93%, Samsung with 0.78%, and Huawei with 0.48%.
