If you're looking for apps that can help you customize the Windows Phone lock screen, search no more because Lockie is one of the best items that can lend you a hand with that.

Lockie is a freeware app that allows you to tweak the UI of your Windows Phone lock screen with plenty of new things, such as the weather forecast, calendar entries, RSS news, quotes, notes, and battery information.

As you can see in the photo gallery below, there are plenty of customization options available and you can set up everything from lock screen background and quotes to accent colors and refresh intervals.

At the same time, Lockie also comes with a transparent live tile for Windows Phone 8.1, which can be configured to display the information you want. As far as the weather forecast is concerned, data is provided by The Weather Channel and AccuWeather, so it should be pretty accurate.

One of the best things about Lockie is that it has only a small impact on device battery, despite the fact that it needs to always run in the background. A location service is also required if you want to display the weather forecast for your current location, but you can always disable it and configure your own city.

The app is completely free of charge, but keep in mind that some features, such as the transparent live tile, only work on Windows Phone 8.1.
