Windows 10 is all about giving users more power to configure the operating system in a way that better addresses their needs, so Microsoft is working to add some options that would really help them do just that.

One of the most requested features for phones was an adjustable level of transparency for the Start screen, as users were looking for settings that would allow better customization of their phones. A leaked picture published today by WindowsMania shows that new options that would allow users to configure the transparency level of live tiles could indeed be offered when the new OS is ready.

Back in February when Microsoft rolled out the very first technical preview build of Windows 10 for phones, the company implemented some changes to the Start screen that made many users wonder whether Windows Phone can still keep its unique identity when it receives the Windows 10 treatment or head towards a completely new approach that would make it more similar to its rivals.

In addition to the hamburger button that showed up in several apps across the OS, Microsoft also removed the parallax scrolling effect of the Start screen wallpaper and adjusted the live tile transparency in Windows 10 for phones in a way that actually disappointed many fans out there. But these could all change in the upcoming releases.

Tons of feedback for the Start screen

Soon after the February 12 release of Windows 10 for phones preview, Microsoft confirmed that a customizable level of transparency for the home screen would be offered at some point in the future, adding that what we were seeing at that time was just an early UI expected to receive plenty of tweaks in the next builds.

And according to this leaked screenshot, changes to the home screen are indeed planned, but it remains to be seen how exactly this customizable transparency level can be implemented.

It will be interesting to see if Microsoft is working to add a slider to simply adjust transparency or stick to some pre-defined levels to make sure that no other visual glitches occur.
