You might have to pay more if you are using these apps

There has been quite a buzz surrounding live-streaming apps lately and everyone is dying to see how they work, but there are some things people should take into account when using these apps.

Shortly after its long-awaited launch, Periscope managed to surpass Meerkat regarding the number of downloads.

Either way, irrespective of who might come first in this battle, people should be aware that there is a reason why these apps are considered to have been released earlier than they should have or why they are considered to be too advanced for the times we live in.

When asked why he thought these apps are missing, Josh Miller, who works on Facebook’s product team, declared for Venture Beat, “connection speeds are too slow / video quality too poor for the average coverage, let alone phone and data plan costs.”

You need good mobile data plans if you want to keep up with the apps

It might not be a problem if you have a WiFi connection, but what happens when you’re at a concert or in some remote place where you only have your mobile data to resort to?

People might not be aware of how much data these apps are using and some were quite surprised to see their bills blow up because they had overdone it with the broadcasting. You want to share some moments of your life so badly that you forget all about data costs.

The Huffington Post reported that last Thursday, when a building collapsed in New York, bystanders rushed to live stream the event, and it was revealed that one of these streams showed more than 600 people watching it.

Your data plans might not allow you to keep with these applications, or at least not use them as much as you would want to. But if you use them moderately and if you do not plan to broadcast every moment of your life, then you might be able to get through the month without being overcharged.

So, it doesn't really matter which live streaming app you go with, you still have to pay attention to how often you use it, unless of course, you opt for an unlimited data plans, which can be quite expensive.
