The development team at Wargaming is announcing that the 2015 Grand Finals for the Wargaming.net League will take place between April 25 and 26 in Warsaw, Poland, with the best 12 teams in the world set to fight in order to take home a major prize and bragging rights.

The entire competition is using a new tournament format, with a new Attack/Defense mode, which was designed using input from the player community that was involved with the competitive side of World Of Tanks from the start.

More details are offered on the official site.

There are no draws and that means teams need to be aggressive both on attack and defense, which increases the entertainment value for the community that is aiming to watch the 2015 Grand Finals.

The public will have free access and the most passionate spectators will be able to get access to exclusive prizes and giveaways.

Mohamed Fadl, the eSports director of Europe and North America at Wargaming, states, “The recent revamp of tournament rules changed the surface of WGL eSports. Soon, we’ll see the best of the best meet in the final face-off in what’s set to be a breathtaking and action-packed Grand Finals.”

The World of Tanks competition is organized with support from the local government of Warsaw.

Michał Olszewski, the deputy mayor, adds, “It’s thanks to the excellent cooperation and the great atmosphere of last year’s event that organizers decided to choose the Polish capital once again for the Grand Finals. The previous tournament gathered masses of spectators and I hope that this year will be another resounding success.”

World of Tanks continues to evolve

The tank-based free-to-play title has been a success on both the PC and the Xbox 360 and the developers are continuing to deliver new content and balance updates.

At the same time, Wargaming is working on World of Warplanes and World of Warships, which tackle other areas of XX century warfare.

eSports is important to the company because it keeps the community engaged and gives players something to aspire to.

There are three divisions, Gold, Silver and Bronze, and gamers will develop new skills as they compete with those who are better at World of Tanks.
