Songified mashup is a hilarious ode to the “strong females”

Today’s Viral of the Day is the best of both worlds: film and hilarious viral videos, of the “Intruder Song” type. YouTube user Albert Lopez mashed up the Songified Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt with “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and the result is nothing short of hilarious, but also true.

The Songified video is a parody of Netflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” in the manner of the famous “Intruder Song,” which came to be when an actual news report was Songified and then went viral.

Since it’s about a bunch of women who were saved from an underground dungeon, where they were being held captive by a cult leader, Lopez thought it would go perfectly with the story in “Mad Max” of Imperator Furiosa and The Wives, the high-quality breeders she rescued from Immortan Joe.

And that it does: the result is catchy, funny and quite accurate faux trailer, showing to the world that Furiosa is, at the end of the day, the real hero in George Miller’s most recent “Mad Max” film, the first one after a 30-year hiatus.

Speaking of the film, now out in theaters, critics and fans have agreed that it’s one of the gutsiest and well-done action movies in years. A full “Mad Max: Fury Road” review is also available.
