Indian company Videocon is back with yet another affordable Android smartphone with an impressive name but kind of disappointing features.

Still, considering that this is a budget-friendly smartphone that costs way under $100, it's inherent that it will have low specs for the most part.

However, we would have expected Videocon to add at least something that would make its smartphone stand out from other devices in the same price range, especially that competition on the Indian market is so stiff.

The one thing that Videocon might be proud of is the fact that the Z45 Infinium Nova+, their newly announced smartphone, looks pretty decent. Other than that, Videocon Z45 Infinium Nova+ is a standard affordable smartphone.

According to the Indian company, the smartphone will soon go on sale India via online, as well as brick and mortar stores across the country. Customers will be able to get it for only Rs 4,900 outright, which is about $77 or €70.

Pre-loaded apps include V-Safe and V-Secure

Videocon Z45 Infinium Nova+ will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, as well as some pre-loaded apps like V-Safe and V-Secure (90 days free subscription included).

On the inside, the handset is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 processor, a Mali400 MP2 graphics processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The Z45 Infinium Nova+ packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features LED flash, autofocus and video recording, as well as secondary 2-megapixel camera for selfies.

Other highlights of the phone include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0 connectivity, as well as GPS with AGPS, 3.5mm audio jack and 1,800 mAh battery.

“The launch of Z45 Nova+ brings a new addition to our portfolio of consumer-focused and affordable smartphones. By introducing such portfolios of smartphones, we aim to bring top smartphone features at a highly affordable pricing and creating a niche in budget smartphone market.

“With communication getting more hyper, consumers demands for devices, which can provide instant and smooth on-the-go connectivity. In line up to the same, the Z45Nova+ comes with a combination all these requirements at cost-effective pricing,” said Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phones.
