Good news for Samsung Galaxy S5 owners who purchased their smartphones through Verizon's official retail channels, as the carrier has just confirmed it has started the rollout of the Android 5.0 Lollipop for this particular handset.

Even though this can be considered good news, Verizon has in fact delayed Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy S5 for a few months now.

The Big Red kicked off the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S5 back in February, but it immediately pulled the update due some unknown technical issues.

Later this week, Verizon resumed the rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S5, so those who did not get it the first time may want to check their phones.

Thankfully, the carrier also published the changelog for this update, so you will be happy to know that beside Android 5.0 Lollipop you will get lot of other improvements and new features.

Once you update, you will notice bolder colors and more fluid animations. Also, the on/off toggle button style has been update based on Material Design.

Material Design and lots of other improvements and new features

As many of you probably know by now, Android 5.0 Lollipop brings the new Material Design, which offers nicer themes and animations, as well as 3D views for a more pleasurable experience.

The shortcuts or both Phone and Camera are provided for quicker access. Notifications have been changed based on Material Design as well.

Users will now be able to set priority and privacy for notifications on lock screen. The TouchWiz UI has a brighter look and feel, bold colors, fluid animation inspired by Material Design.

Priority notifications such as events and reminders, phone calls, and messages can be set up to sound or vibrate while all other notifications are muted.
