The G Pad 8.3 LTE received a small update at Verizon about a month ago, but it wasn't the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Today, the Big Red has confirmed that the long-awaited Lollipop upgrade is now available for download for LG G Pad 8.3 LTE owners.

According to the carrier, the update is pushed OTA (over the air) gradually, so it might take a few days until it reaches all LG G Pad 8.3 LTE tablets.

As expected, this update brings LG G Pad 8.3 LTE to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and also lots of new features and improvements.

First of all, the Home touch buttons design has been updated to match Lollipop style. Also, the Recent button will be inserted between the Home and Menu buttons.

Some Lockscreen notification enhancements have been implemented as well, so you will be able to tap “More” or swipe downward on the notification list to display all notifications, with Swipe lock.

New Wi-Fi options have been added as well, such as the “Avoid bad Wi-Fi connections” in Advanced Wi-Fi tab. If Wi-Fi network is not connected to the internet and “Avoid bad Wi-Fi connections” is turned off, then “No Wi-Fi Internet connection” pop-up will be displayed.
