Members of iBUYPOWER, Cloud9, Torqued and NetCodeGuides have been banned from Valve sponsored events

Valve has just dropped the hammer of justice upon some of the best North American Counter-Strike teams iBUYPOWER and Cloud9. Important members of these two teams have been banned from all future events sponsored by Valve.

Following allegations of match-fixing reported by dailydot less than two weeks ago, Valve has took it upon itself to investigate whether or not these accusations were entitled.

Even though it took some time, Valve has managed to find the truth by investigating the historical activity of relevant accounts.

The company discovered substantial number of high valued items won from the match by Duc “cud” Pham were transferred (via Derek “dboorn Boorn) to iBUYPOWER players and NetCodeGuides founder, Casey Foster.

Following the investigation, Valve has decided that it doesn't want to have anything to do with those who cheated and decided to ban them from all of its own-sponsored events.

Seven pro players have been banned from all Valve sponsored events

The following individuals, members of iBUYPOWER, Cloud9, Torqued and NetCodeGuides teams, have been banned by Valve: Duc “cud” Pham, Derek “dboorn” Boorn, Casey Foster, Sam “Dazed” Marine, Braxton “swag” Pierce, Keven “AZK” Larivière, and Joshua “Steel” Nissan.

Moreover, Valve stated that “professional players, their managers, and teams’ organization staff, should under no circumstances gamble on CS:GO matches, associate with high volume CS:GO gamblers, or deliver information to others that might influence their CS:GO bets.”

Now while Valve's decision to ban important pro players of some of the best North American Counter-Strike teams is fair, the game will surely lose a lot from their experience.

It's a pity that they have worked so hard to be where they are today and then throw it all away for money, especially knowing that they risk being banned by Valve.

Let's hope those who will take their place will become at least just as good and won't be lowering themselves to such practices.
