Vuze, a BitTorrent client previously known under the name of Azureus, which is built on Java, is now at version 5.4.0.1 Beta 35 and is ready for testing.

Vuze is a very light BitTorrent client that can be used for downloading files from P2P connections and comes with an integrated search engine. The application is updated slowly and through numerous smaller versions. The current one may be an intermediary release, but it does bring some interesting features.

"The share ratio is calculated directly from the amounts of data downloaded/uploaded for a torrent so to adjust the share ratio it is necessary to modify these values. To this end the amount downloaded is set to be the size of the download and then the amount uploaded is set to achieve the required share ratio (e.g. a share ratio of 0.5 will set the amount uploaded to half of the download size)," write the developers in the changelog.

Even if it's just a simple new feature, it's quite important. The same kind of functionality is already available in other similar clients, so it was just a matter of time until Vuze also implemented it.
