Who could have imagined an Ubuntu comic book?

The Ubuntu community is already spotting the operating systems in all kind of cool places, like NASA or The International Space station, but it looks like there is a Manga collection of comic books that details the adventures of Ubuntu users, usually trying to convince other people that it's a perfectly good system.

From time to time, users have spotted Ubuntu in somewhat strange situations and environments, but it's hard to think of anything more bizarre than this series of Ubuntu inspired Manga comics called "Ubunchu." They are generated by a Japanese mind, so it shouldn’t surprise Westerners with its oddity, but it does. It feels weird just to read it, not to mention to imagine the characters.

The creator of the comics is Hiroshi Seo, and they were published by a company called ASCII MEDIA WORKS Inc. In addition, it's worth mentioning that the works have been released under "Creative Commons: Attribution – NonCommercial" license, which means that they should be free to copy, translate, and do pretty much what you want with them, as long as you give proper credit to the original author and you don't make any money of it.

Eight issues of Ubunchu have been released already

The Ubunchu Manga issues have been flying under the community radar for quite some time, but they have been posted on Reddit by a user who happens to stumble upon them, and they should provide some serious entertainment.

"Ubunchu! is a Japanese manga series featuring Ubuntu Linux. Three school students in a system-admin club  are getting into Ubuntu!" reads the official website. The discussions between the characters usually revolved around Linux, and they even take a poke at Windows from time to time.

What is even stranger is that, if you take away the weird feeling this Manga gives readers not familiar with this kind of work, they are actually not all that bad. Even the discussions are somewhat technical and well documented, for the most part.

You can check all the issues on the official website and please, do let us know what you think of it.
