If you fancy Samsung’s latest Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and you plan to buy one of them from a carrier in the US, you should probably know that, depending on where you decide to shop, you won’t be able to access some of the phones’ pre-loaded apps and feats.

On a thread on Reddit, users of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have put together a comprehensive list of features that have been removed from the flagships by the four major carriers in the US: Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T.

Let’s take them one at a time and see what each carrier version is missing. We’ll start off with Big Red, because the company is the country’s largest mobile operator.

Each US carrier has performed some modifications to the Galaxy S6

Verizon has reportedly removed Smart Manager, as well as all the Microsoft apps that come pre-loaded on the Galaxy S6 (OneDrive, OneNote, and Skype).

While the Microsoft apps can be easily downloaded from the Google Play Store if the owner of the device wants to, the same is not valid for Smart Manager. The application has been designed by Samsung to help users manage battery and storage.

Moving on to AT&T, this carrier is shipping the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units devoid of the Download Booster and Simple Sharing features. The Microsoft apps have also been scraped off, and there’s no Smart Manager either.

Meanwhile, Sprint customers won’t be able to take advantage of the Download Booster, and the carrier has also disabled Wi-Fi calling as a default option, but that’s not something you can’t change. Here, the Microsoft apps are present, so buyers will get 100GB of free OneDrive storage with their purchase.

Last but not least, T-Mobile has been a little gentler on Samsung’s new flagships. However, the mobile operator will limit users’ ability to remove S-Finder and Quick connect from the dropdown menu.

And while AT&T models offer the possibility to disable capacitive lights, this can’t be achieved if you purchase the same phone from T-Mobile.

So if you’re looking to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge, you should probably keep in mind what we detailed for you above in order to make an informed decision.
