Kind of like Google Labs, YouTube has its own page specially designed for those interested in checking out some of the features that the video-sharing site is experimenting with to improve the online experience of its users.

On TestTube users are given the opportunity to check out the ideas that YouTube developers have come up with and send them feedback regarding what needs to be changed or what they would like to see next. It is the perfect way to interact with the engineers and even contribute to what they call the "ideas incubator."

The most interesting part about the experimental website is that users can try out some of YouTube latest enhancements before they are officially launched.

For instance, users have the chance to try out the brand-new transparent video player. There is a button on the main page that says “Get the player,” and all you have to do is click on it. No modifying and deleting cookies required. Just one click and then you can go on YouTube and watch the videos using the new player.

You can sign up for more enjoyable experiences

For more similar experiences, all you have to do is sign up and become a certified tester. YouTube throws in some rewards for those who take the time to participate in the experiments.

YouTube’s playground is particularly useful for active users of the community who want to bring some innovations to their videos and their viewers.

TestTube also gives you the opportunity to enjoy a great variety of its ultra-high-definition 4K videos, having compiled a playlist of their favorite ones so far. You can also use the filter that YouTube has introduced for users to find them easier. All you have to do is enter a keyword in the search bar and then choose the 4k option which you can find at the very top under Features.

However, you should keep in mind that 4K videos are not available for everybody, given that if your computer does not comply with all the requirements, the videos will very likely lag pretty badly.
