Trials Fusion has just received a free update across all platforms that adds the long-awaited online multiplayer mode to the impressive game, while a new premium add-on will appear next week, on January 27.

Trials Fusion launched last year and delighted the franchise's many different fans with impressive physics-based racing gameplay, not to mention varied stages, imaginative mini-games, and much more. However, the online multiplayer wasn't available in the final version of the game, as developer RedLynx and publisher Ubisoft only offered a local multiplayer mode.

Online multiplayer is finally available in Trials Fusion

Now, after a bit of tinkering, the two companies confirm via the Ubiblog that a free patch is currently available for Trials Fusion, that finally brings online multiplayer.

The update is available for download across the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 versions of the game and allows for eight-player matches on the PC or the new consoles, and four-player ones on the old Xbox 360.

Three different modes are included, starting with online X-Supercross, which puts players on two random tracks and tasks them with earning the highest scores across two rounds on each of the stages.

You can also organize Private Games, that lets players pick a track and customize the parameters, from the gravity, to the bike speed, or even invert the controls for everyone taking part in the race.

PC owners will also get to enjoy the Private Games with Spectators mode, in which they can watch other people's races or just broadcast them via different streaming platforms. You are able to set all the rules of the race, pick a track, and then invite others to join in while you get to watch.

A new premium DLC, Fire in the Deep, is coming next week

Besides the free multiplayer mode, Trials Fusion is also set to receive next week, on January 27, the Fire in the Deep add-on that includes 11 new tracks, 27 fresh challenges, as well as five achievements and plenty of new objects to use in the editor.

As with previous DLC packs, Fire in the Deep is free for Season Pass holders, while regular owners of Trials Fusion must pay a price.
