Supergiant Games confirms some new sales figures for its two big titles, in the form of Transistor and Bastion, emphasizing that it's still thinking about what new project will appear from the independent studio in the future.

Supergiant Games is a relatively recent developer that made a great first impression with Bastion a few years ago and then followed it up with the similarly impressive Transistor in spring of last year. Both titles earned critical acclaim, but as usual with independent games, this doesn't always guarantee big sales.

Supergiant shares actual sales figures for Bastion

Now, Supergiant founder Greg Kasavin confirms on the studio's website some actual sales figures for the two games, opening first with Bastion, which has managed to sell over 3 million units ever since its initial launch on the PC and Xbox 360 back in 2011. The game also saw a release on iOS in 2012, and according to Kasavin, most of these sales occurred after the launch period.

"The launch of Transistor back in May of last year was a big deal for our small studio, as it was our next original game following the success of our first game, Bastion. Bastion's success exceeded our wildest fantasies by quite a bit -- it's sold more than 3 million copies to date, the majority of which happened many months after the game first came out on Xbox 360 and PC," he explains.

Transistor is selling at a faster rate

Transistor isn't so bad either, as while the current sales figures show that 600,000 copies have been sold worldwide across the PC and PS4 platforms, Kasavin emphasizes that the pace is much better than the one exhibited by Bastion when it first launched.

"We were very happy to see Transistor selling even faster relative to Bastion during the first couple of months after its launch. With the new year upon us, we checked our spreadsheets, rubbed our eyes, checked our spreadsheets again and can now report that, thus far, Transistor has sold well over 600,000 copies between Steam and the PlayStation Store," he confirms.

In terms of future plans, Kasavin reveals only that he and the team are trying to figure out what will come next after the two solid titles. Unfortunately, fans shouldn't expect an announcement anytime soon.
