Gamers will need to deal with terror on the battlefield

The development team at The Creative Assembly announces that it is delivering a new free Halloween-themed update for Total War: Rome II, which is designed to introduce a new Nightmare mode for the strategy title and to add the Festival of Lemuria.

The new challenge can be activated in the game options and will result in troops having visions during battles, with a terrifying atmosphere descending over the environment and harpies coming down from the skies to attack them, which causes panic.

The developers are adding a new Steam Achievement for all those who manage to complete a campaign battle using Nightmare mode in Total War: Rome II.

The new festival is also linked to the celebration of Halloween.

The team states, “Lemuria was an ancient feast during which restless spirits were exorcised from the home with the alternate offering of beans and then clashing of cooking pots. Perhaps an early Roman version of Trick or Treat?”

More details are offered in the new Rally Point video from The Creative Assembly, which also introduces a few more details about Total War: Attila.

This year, Total War: Rome II got a new Emperor Edition, which introduces all the free DLC and the patches launched in just one package.
