The top ten sellers on Steam for Linux list shows that the platform has come a long way and is now ready to take on a much serious role in the gaming industry.

We've looked at the top ten sellers on Steam for Linux more than once, and they were usually filled with indie games and small titles. A big triple-A title would show up from time to time, especially during sales, but it was an accurate reflection of the available Steam library. Now that library is getting much bigger, and new and bigger games are available. This means that the top ten is also changing to reflect all of this progress.

The Steam for Linux platform has just passed 1,100 titles, as we have recently revealed, and there is no sign that the progress is slowing down. In fact, many of these new games are triple-A titles, and it's easy to see that the Linux community has spotted this. The top ten seller list is home to full-price games, and that is no mistake.

What Linux games are preferred by the Steam community

The tenth place on this list is Kerbal Space Program, a fun simulation in which players have to build their space program. Kerbal Space Program has been on this list many times, and that stands testament to its quality. It's still in the Early Access Game program, but the 1.0 version is coming very soon.

Garry's Mod is a sandbox physics title that rests comfortably on the ninth place. Just like the Kerbal Space Program, it's been around for a long time, and it doesn't seem like it's going away anytime soon.

Rust, a first-person survival game developed and published by Facepunch Studios on Steam, is still present in the top ten, on the eight place. It's still in development, but that doesn't stop users from paying for it.

On seven, we find Don't Starve MEGA PACK, a collection titles that includes Don't Starve, Don't Starve: Reign of Giants DLC, and Don't Starve Together. This is one of the discounted titles, although it has only a 20% price cut.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, a remake of the original game that was released a few years ago, takes the sixth place. It brings a new engine, new boss fights, and a ton of new content. It also has a 30% price cut that is scheduled to end in just a few hours

The fifth place is occupied by Pillars of Eternity, a massive RPG titled developed by the famous studio Obsidian Entertainment. It's built in the spirit of old titles like Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, and it was a real success.

Crypt of the NecroDancer is on forth. This is a hardcore roguelike rhythm game that has been received very well by the Linux community. It might not look like much, but looks can be deceiving.

Dungeons 2 is a new entry in this list because it's rather new. It's an RTS game similar to the old Dungeon Keeper series and it landed straight on the third place.

Cities: Skylines is a gorgeous city simulation in the vein of the more famous Sim City, from EA. Many users are saying that it's actually much better, and that might be the case if we keep in mind that it's on second place.

The first place is occupied by none other than Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a game that needs no explanation.
