Word on the street is that Tom Hardy, the British actor who took Hollywood by storm, is now moving onto the small screen, as he has signed up for a role in the American historical drama “Taboo.” From initial announcements, the series' plot takes place in 1813 and focuses on the adventurer Keziah Delaney.

Starpulse says that the series will be aired on FX network and that the show is actually based on an original story written by Hardy and his father, which makes Tom also one of the creators of the show.

“Taboo” is going to be an “in-house” project because the script was adapted by Steven Knight, the same Knight who directed Hardy in his latest film, “Locke,” which you really should see, by the way.

And to top off his resumé, Hardy will also act as executive producer on the project, alongside Ridley Scott, so it's safe to say that the series is really his baby in a way.

For Hardy, this is by no means his first time doing television. The versatile British actor has also appeared in other series and mini-series, such as “Peaky Blinders,” “The Take” and “Oliver Twist,” but you probably know him as Bane from “The Dark Knight Rises” or as the gay guy in “Inception.”
