In the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall 4, booth 35823, leading accessory maker ZAGG is showing off one of its latest creations for iPhone owners. It’s a case with a built-in speaker and a battery that can charge the phone while also powering the extra decibels.

The design of the thing is something else as well. The Speaker Case manages to get away with the extra bulk thanks to a modern design that also makes room for the iPhone’s camera and LED flash.

Not just for fun and games

ZAGG advertises the case, saying it’s both useful and protective. Currently designed to fit only the smaller iPhone 6, the ZAGG Speaker Case features a removable Bluetooth speaker “perfect for boosting music, conference calls, videos and games.”

The built-in 1800mAh backup battery is not just for powering the speaker, but also to give the iPhone some extra juice as well. According to the makers, it can provide up to 8 hours of additional talk time, “and can be shared with a friend” (likely through wires).

“As a leader in mobile device accessories, we love being a part of the CES experience and look forward to demonstrating ZAGG's incredible lineup ahead of 2015,” said Randall Hales, CEO and president of ZAGG. “We are dedicated to bringing the most creative, advanced and useful products to the market, and we believe the industry will be inspired by our plans for the upcoming year.”

At CES 2015, ZAGG further has on display an innovative new keyboard for iPhone 6 Plus users, an updated InvisibleShield HDX screen protector, and lots more stuff. The Speaker Case will be available in the first quarter of 2015, ZAGG promises.
