A brand new report concerning The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the next iteration in the role-playing series from CD Projekt Red, has appeared online courtesy of someone who attended a hands-on session with the title and who talks about the great tutorial, the huge world, and the fluid combat.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most anticipated games of the year and fans were already faced with a new delay at the beginning of the month, as CD Projekt Red explained that it needed more time to polish the large RPG, and as such, it's decided to postpone its debut until May, as opposed to the initial February launch period.

However, in order to show that the game is still shaping up quite nicely, the studio organized a large scale hands-on test in different locations from all around the world, and has already shared a bit of gameplay footage and some screenshots from these proceedings.

New details are available about The Witcher 3

Now, one participant talks a bit about what was shown and confirms, via NeoGAF, that the RPG is looking extremely impressive and fans have a lot of great things to look forward to.

First up, he confirms that, after talking with several developers, the game is more or less complete and CD Projekt Red will spend the next few months trying to fix all the bugs and just polish the whole experience.

Around three hours of gameplay were present at the event, starting, of course, with a tutorial that's built right into the story, just like in The Witcher 2. There's a distinct vibe similar to that in the Game of Thrones series, according to the report, and all sorts of elements, from the outfits to the architecture, dialog or characters, help solidify the medieval fantasy theme.

Combat is smoother and the world looks impressive

The actual combat is much smoother but this doesn't mean that it's easy. Apparently, there's still an emphasis on timing your blows, so players will have to learn to master the flow of the fights. Riding a horse is quite easy and there's even a button that, when held down, allows the horse to just follow the current patch while players can admire the view.

While the RPG was demonstrated on the Xbox One, as the event was organized in partnership with Microsoft, the report emphasizes that the visuals were very impressive and the draw distance was huge, without any sort of glitches, framerate drops, or low-res textures.

The map was also impressive, and according to a talk with the developer, play testers need around 200 hours to finish everything that's in the game right now.

Expect to hear more details about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this week, once the embargo on official info drops.
