Halo 5: Guardians might have already been offered in multiplayer pre-beta form for a small number of players who are part of the Xbox One Preview program, but a much larger group of gamers will be able to enjoy the testing period that starts on December 29.

For all those who are anxiously waiting for the day to pass until then, the teams at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are offering a new documentary called The Sprint – Making Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, which is only available on the Halo Channel on the Xbox One and offers a look at how the game was created.

New episodes are being added until December 23 and gamers can see how the studio deals with a number of issues that pop up as the multiplayer beta for Halo 5: Guardians is being created.

It’s an interesting insight into the game-making process, which fans rarely have access to, but it will probably fail to keep Halo lovers interested while they wait for the testing period to be opened.

Only those who have bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be able to take part in the multiplayer beta, which is set to debut on December 29 and will run for three weeks, with new maps and modes introduced every seven days.

343 Industries says that it will use the period to see how the newly introduced mechanics will affect the experience of the game.

Apparently, data that will help improve the game has already been extracted from the brief period during which Halo 5: Guardians was offered to Xbox One Preview members.

Master Chief will star in the single-player side of the title

Halo 5: Guardians is the kind of experience which needs to have a solid single-player campaign while also introducing some cool new ideas to multiplayer.

Master Chief will once again be the star of the story, although leaks are suggesting that gamers will initially play as Agent Locke, who was introduced to the community via the new Halo Nightfall live-action series.

343 Industries has promised that it will deliver higher stakes than before, but it has not offered any details on the narrative so far.

It will be interesting to see how the dedicated Halo community reacts to the changes that will be part of the multiplayer beta and whether the developers will make any big tweaks based on feedback.
