The Order: 1886, the upcoming third-person shooter from Ready at Dawn and Sony that's set to arrive exclusively for the PS4, lasts around 9 hours, according to a new report, and features a strong story that makes full use of linear environments to give players a roller coaster ride.

One of the first big PS4 exclusives of 2015 is The Order: 1886, coming from developer Ready at Dawn only for Sony's home console. Quite a lot of different videos and details have already appeared, showcasing just how gorgeous the visuals in the game look, as well as how players will engage in a variety of adventures throughout Victorian London.

The game is shaping up rather well, new report claims

Now, after hearing that the game has gone gold and is getting ready for its debut in February, a new report appears online, via NeoGAF, citing a few impressions from those who got to play the shooter early.

According to the info, the game lasts around eight to ten hours, and can even reach 12 hours if players spend time searching through every nook and cranny. However, the environments are mostly linear, although there will be quite a few sections that are much more open and filled with non-playable characters, not to mention enemies of all sorts.

While the game doesn't try to do anything surprising, the third-person shooter gameplay performs really well and players will certainly enjoy the "super strong" narrative that's going to pull the whole campaign along.

There are also a few horror elements thrown into the mix, apparently, but no other details were given. Seeing as how The Order: 1886 involves a war between humans and hybrids, it's possible that there will be some sequences in which the beasts stalk the protagonists.

The visuals, of course, are absolutely stunning and there will be plenty of great physics effects that make interacting with everything even more impressive.

Not much else was revealed but it's becoming clear that The Order: 1886 will impress at least some PS4 owners. Look forward to its debut worldwide on February 20, exclusively for the Sony platform.
