The game could have used some improvements, Naughty Dog says

Naughty Dog, the studio behind one of most critically praised games of recent years – The Last of Us – admits that the game still has its flaws and that, if more time were available, the whole team would rectify the downsides of the popular title.

The Last of Us launched first on the PS3 platform back in summer of 2013, delighting tens of millions of fans from all over the world with an impressive survival action-adventure experience. Naughty Dog quickly started working on a PS4 adaptation of the popular game and ended up releasing it in summer of 2014 on the new Sony console.

The game once again impressed many, and a lot of former PS3 owners once again bought the game on the PS4 in order to experience the better visuals, enhanced gameplay, and other such things.

The Last of Us still has some flaws

While The Last of Us Remastered on the PS4 is considered the definitive edition, Game Director Bruce Straley still believes that there are flaws in the game.

While talking with GameInformer, via Gamepur, about the recent project, Straley admits that there are a few things that could have been improved upon if there had been more time available. Even so, he quickly emphasizes that he's proud of what the whole Naughty Dog team managed to accomplish in such a period.

"You still see the flaws, you still see the things that you wish you had more time to improve on, and you still wish you could have done something a little differently. I'm super proud of what we've done here in the team and everything that we've accomplished… but at the same time, there's another aspect, which is like, it's not done, or something."

Taking into account that the Last of Us received a lot of DLC for its multiplayer mode and even the Left Behind single-player add-on, it's clear that Straley's perceived flaws are found at a deeper level.

Even so, considering Naughty Dog is current working on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, as well as on another, different game, don't expect it to revisit The Last of Us anytime soon.
