The development team at Naughty Dog and publisher Sony are announcing that a new batch of multiplayer-focused downloadable content is being launched for the Remastered version of The Last of Us, which is designed to improve the experience and give players more reasons to stick with it in the long term.

The official announcement says that gamers will be able to get new Special Executions, linked to each weapon category, with each of them offered for 0.99 dollars or Euro.

The team explains that "We had to exclude some sets from the PS3 version of the game due to memory constraints on the hardware. Yes, it seems with our latest add-ons we’re squeezing every last ounce of memory the PS3 has to run our Factions mode."

The Last of Us also offers a new Tactical Weapons Bundle for 2.99 dollars or Euro, which allows access to the powerful Tactical Shotgun, Burst Pistol, Frontier Rifle, and Crossbow.

Each of the items can be picked up individually by those gamers who prefer to focus on just one tool of destruction and master it.

A new bundle of survival skills is being delivered for The Last of Us under the Rick Management name, introducing Lone Wolf, which offers temporary survival skills when you are away from your team, Second Chance, offering one free health kit when none is available and when health is half depleted, Jack of All Trades, delivering grab bag level 1 skills at discount, Lucky Break, offering more ammo and crafting items in supply boxes, and Lethal Efficiency, introducing a new special neck snap that is stealthier.

The Last of Us is also getting access to more items

Naughty Dog is determined to offer fans at least one piece of DLC that's interesting to them, and the items are grouped under the Misfit Head Bundle, featuring the Viking Hat, Plague Mask, Smiley Mask, Outlaw Mask, Ski Goggles, Broken Gas Mask, Ballistic Helmet, and Urban Camo Helmet for the price of 6.99 dollars or Euro.

Finally, the studio is introducing three Gestures bundles.

More details about the changes coming to The Last of Us are offered in the attached video and the development team has not yet said whether it plans to also introduce a patch soon in order to improve overall balance.

At the moment, Naughty Dog is working on Uncharted 4 and rumors talk about a new title they are supposedly preparing to reveal for the PlayStation 4.
