Today, March 23, Apple has started seeding the fifth and last Public Beta build (14D113c) of the forthcoming Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite operating system designed for Macintosh computers.

The new pre-release version of the next maintenance release of Yosemite is here to bring further improvements to the Photos of Mac application that will replace the deprecated iPhoto and Aperture apps, as reported earlier this month.

This means that the new Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite update is around the corner, and it promises to improve the overall stability, security, performance, and compatibility of your Macintosh computer.

New APIs in Mac OS X 10.10.3 allow developers to add support for Force Touch

We've also reported recently that Mac OS X 10.10.3 will introduce four new APIs that allow application developers to add support for the Force Touch trackpad of the new MacBook and the refreshed MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch computers into their applications.

Other visible changes of Mac OS X 10.10.3 include a redesigned Emoji picker that is available system wide on all applications, as well as support for Google's two-step authentication system when creating a Gmail account from System Settings.

Here's how to test the Public Beta of Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite

Those of you who can't wait any longer and want to test the new features incorporated in Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite, can do it right now by signing up for Apple’s OS X Beta program.

While any Mac owner will be able to install and test the Mac OS X 10.10.3 Public Beta (14D113c) operating system, they should keep in mind that it is not possible to revert to the current stable release, Mac OS X 10.10.2.

Additionally, please note that a Beta piece of software is sometime unstable, thus not recommended for production machines. Detailed installation instructions are provided on the Apple Beta Software Program.
