The Elder Scrolls Online is available on home consoles since June 9, but developer ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are still having problems with the login process for both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, although right now the biggest issues are linked to the Microsoft home console.

A message from the Twitter account of the video game explains that all gamers should be patient while the cause of the trouble is being investigated and solved on the server side of the game.

The two companies have a forum thread where they are posting official updates and making sure that all console players of The Elder Scrolls Online have all the information they need to get into the MMO as quickly as possible.

On the PC, the game is getting its regular weekly maintenance, with the two companies introducing some bug fixes and trying to make sure that the title runs as well as possible.

It's unclear why those playing The Elder Scrolls Online on the Xbox One are having more trouble at the moment than those who own a copy of the title for the PlayStation 4.

Earlier during the weekend, Sony fans had the same issues with the login process, but it looks like the problems have already been solved for them.

The Elder Scrolls Online seems to be a success on home consoles

The MMO might have problems on the Sony and the Microsoft platforms at the moment, but they seem to be linked to the fact that a record number of players are trying to get into the world of Tamriel at the same time.

The network infrastructure supporting the title is now being upgraded to deal with the interest from the player community.

The Elder Scrolls Online is designed to allow players to choose from nine races and three alliances before they explore the entire fantasy universe and take part in both classic quests and innovative massive sieges and battles.

The MMO started life as a classic subscription-based experience, but as the community lost interest, Bethesda decided to move to a new business system that allows everyone to play for free after getting the retail package.

The publisher says that PC and console updates will be arriving at roughly the same time.

UPDATE: The issues are solved, and according to Bethesda, all players should be able to log in.
