14 DAY TRIAL // Telltale Games has revealed the very first gameplay trailer of its upcoming Game of Thrones adventure game series, showcasing some of the characters from the TV series that will be present in the new experience, while offering more details about the main protagonists, which are members of House Forrester.
Game of Thrones is a global phenomenon, with tens of millions of people staying up to speed with the HBO TV series, not to mention the Song of Ice and Fire books written by George R.R. Martin, on which the show is based.
Quite a few video games based on the property have already appeared with mixed results, unfortunately, but soon prestigious developer Telltale Games, the team behind cult hits like The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us, is going to launch its own series of adventure titles focused on a new plotline.
A gameplay video for the new title is finally ready
The simply called Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series has now received an actual gameplay video that's rather short but quite sweet, confirming some of the main characters that will be present in the game.
As you can see in the footage below, quite a few major characters will have an impact on the story. These include Cersei and Tyrion Lannister, Margaery Tyrell, or Ramsay Snow. The actors who bring the characters to life in the TV show will also be lending their voices to the cast, including Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Natalie Dormer, or Iwan Rheon. Additional members of the TV show cast will also appear in later episodes, according to the official announcement.
Details about the story and its place in the timeline are also available
Telltale has also shared some details about where exactly the game series is placed in the timeline of the franchise. Apparently, the action kicks off towards the end of the third season of the TV show and is set to end before the beginning of season five, which debuts in spring of next year.
Players will have to guide not one, but five main characters that are members or in service of House Forrester, a proud family from the Northern part of Westeros. These characters are scattered across the fictional universe and players will be able to visit locations like King's Landing and the Wall, not to mention Essos and the all-new Ironrath, which is the home of House Forrester.
The first episode in the Game of Thrones series is called Iron from Ice and is set to premiere quite soon across the PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS platforms. There will be six parts in total in the new series from Telltale.
