Telegram is a relatively new messaging application that tries to provide users with more security features than other instant messengers available on the market.

One of the most important features users expect from a messenger application is solid security because people want to protect their conversations from prying eyes.

Telegram is a cross-platform application, which means it will work on all major mobile platforms, as well as desktops. There's no limit for the number of messages one could send with Telegram.

According to developers, Telegram heavily encrypts all data with time-tested algorithms. The application is also storing message history in the Telegram cloud for free.

It's also worth mentioning that Telegram is fast and reliable because it works even on the weakest mobile connections. The latest version of the application comes with even more features and improvements.

Three new features make Telegram an even more interesting messaging app

First and foremost, developers have added two-step verification, which will allow users to set up an additional password that will be required to log into their Telegram account.

Another new feature included in this update is Sessions List, which provides users with the option to view their active Telegram sessions (on desktop, tablet and mobile devices) and close specific sessions remotely.

Last but not least, with Link Previews, users will be able to get rich link summaries for tweets, YouTube videos, Instagram photos and other content.

If you don't have the application installed yet, you can now download Telegram for Android 2.7.0 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.2 and up.

Keep in mind that developers also offer Secret Chats to those obsessed by privacy. Secret Chats uses end-to-end encryption to make sure that a message can only be read by its intended recipient.
