The development teams at StreumOn and Cyanide and publisher Focus Home Interactive have not revealed too many details about their new Space Hulk: Deathwing, but a new Rise of the Terminators trailer for the experience offers fans of the universe a solid look at how the two factions included will look in action.

The title will use first-person shooter mechanics and the footage is focused on what the Space Marines and the Tyranids will look like in the coming title and the way the developers are using the power of Unreal Engine 4 in order to carefully detail their equipment and their capabilities in battle.

The trailer for Space Hulk: Deathwing also delivers an emotionally-charged track to accompany the carnage, with a song called Walking with a Ghost created specifically for the game by Kadebostany.

The Space Hulk concept was already explored in turn-based and top-down format, but the new title aims to be more visceral by putting players right in the middle of the action to directly battle xenomorphs.

The Warhammer 40,000 universe is filled with interesting conflicts that can be turned into video games, but Deathwing aims to portray the claustrophobic feelings and the increasing tension which can only be found when fighting in massive abandoned ships that have little functioning systems and plenty of hiding space for enemies.

The Genestealers that the Tyranids are fielding are fast and vicious up close and personal, but the Terminators of the Space Marines have armor and long-range weapons to try and hold them off.

The Deathwing company of the Dark Angels chapter are known for their ferocity and their ability to take on xenos, and the developers are saying that as missions go by they will be able to gain access to new abilities, more items and even Psykers to take the aliens out.

Warhammer 40,000 is getting more video game adaptations

Both the fantasy and the far future versions of Warhammer are getting adapted into multiple video game projects, which is great for fans of the universe and the complex situations that it can create.

Space Hulk: Deathwing is an interesting take on the concept, but much depends on how well the developers will be able to adapt the mechanics that were first linked to the boardgame with the same name.

The title does not yet have a launch date and will arrive on both the PC and home consoles.
