Another possibility would be the low demand for the device

Sony Mobile announced a long time ago that it had no intention to enter the US market because of the fierce competition in the smartphone industry.

Even so, the Japanese company still brought some of its Xperia handsets in the US, but most of them were only available at its official Sony Online store or other major retailers across the country.

T-Mobile USA is one of the few carries that launch Sony's flagship smartphones soon after they get released on the market, and that's exactly what happened with the Xperia Z3.

Sony Xperia Z3 has been available at T-Mobile USA for less than six months, but that's not a valid statement anymore. The network operator confirms it has discontinued the Xperia Z3 and that those who want a Sony smartphone can grab refurbished devices of some older handsets like the Xperia Z.

T-Mobile and Verizon are among the few US carriers to offer the Xperia Z3

However, the Xperia Z3 won't be available at T-Mobile USA anymore, which makes us wonder whether or not the Magenta carrier isn't preparing the launch of Sony's next flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4.

Another reason for T-Mobile's decision to discontinue the Xperia Z3 may be the lack of demand for the smartphone. Even though there are customers who are still willing to pay for the device, it looks like they are too few to justify the listing of the Xperia Z3.

We will probably never know the real reason of Xperia Z3's removal from T-Mobile unless the US-based carrier issues and official statement on the matter.

Here is hoping that T-Mobile will at least bring Sony's Xperia Z4 to customers in the US, sooner rather than later. We'll be keeping an eye out on this one, so stay tuned for more updates.

In the same piece of news, those who really wish to purchase Sony's current flagship smartphone can still get Verizon's Xperia Z3v, which is a carrier-branded Xperia Z3 customized for the Big Red.
