14 DAY TRIAL // After the disappointing Xperia Z4 announcement, Sony is now rumored to release yet another flagship smartphone with much better specs than the current one.
Until then though, it looks like the Japanese company will be launching one more high-end smartphone that will probably be available internationally.
As many of you probably know by now, the Xperia Z4 will be initially released in Japan, but it’s unclear whether Sony will bring it to other countries as well.
However, there might be a way for those who want another high-end Sony smartphone. The unannounced Sony Xperia P2 has just leaked in China, and judging by its specs, it could very well be the international version of Xperia Z4.
Still, the recently leaked Xperia P2 features a slightly different design that might appeal to more consumers. For example, the Xperia P2 will feature an almost bezel-less display judging from the leaked press renders.
The first to come with a slightly different design layout
Sony’s Xperia P2 will be between 8.9mm and 10.9mm thin, whereas the Xperia Z4 is only 6.9mm thick. Also, the former comes with a transparent strip right at the bottom of the display, in the same manner as the Xperia P smartphone that was launched about 3 years ago.
Hardware-wise, the Xperia P2 will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. There’s no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion though.
On the back, Sony Xperia P2 will pack a 12.1-meagpixel camera with Sony Exmor RS for mobile sensor, f2.0 lens, autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording. There’s also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front with full HD video recording.
Last but not least, the smartphone is powered by a huge 4,240 mAh battery and sports a 5.2-inch IPS TRILUMINOS display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
Since this is the first time we hear about the Xperia P2, it will probably take a few more weeks for Sony to make it official, so stay tuned for more on this high-end Android smartphone.
