Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is already available for purchase in a few countries such as India and the UK, but Canadians will be pleased to know that they won't have to wait too long for the smartphone to arrive in their country.

Sony Canada has just confirmed that the Xperia M4 Aqua will be launched across the country with multiple carriers including Bell, Fido, Videotron, Virgin Mobile and WIND Mobile.

According to the Japanese company, the smartphone should go on sale in mid-June. Unfortunately, no details on pricing options have been revealed, but Xperia M4 Aqua is selling in the UK for around $390 USD ($490 CAD).

The Xperia M4 Aqua will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. The smartphone is IP68 certified, which means it's dust and water proof up to 1.5 meter and 30 minutes.

Specs-wise, this is a mid-range smartphone that's powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, Sony's mid-range handset is equipped with a 13-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen supports HD (720p) resolution and features scratch-resistant glass for extra protection.

When it comes to connectivity, the Xperia M4 Aqua is an all-rounder. It offers LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC (Near Field Communication), microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS and FM Radio.

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone will be powered by a 2,400 mAh non-removable battery, which should provide up to 680 hours of standby mode or up to 13 hours of talk time.
