Sony is finally being forced by the Federal Trade Commission from the United States of America to offer settlements to PS Vita owners who got their consoles before June of 2012, following the ruling that the company falsely advertised its device.

The PS Vita has been around for quite some time, and while it really started selling well in 2013, alongside the PS4 console, before that point in time, things weren't all that great for the portable console.

The misleading advertisement lawsuit settlement is finally available

What's more, right after its release in February of 2012 in the US, a group of customers sued Sony over false advertising. More specifically, claims that the PS Vita would revolutionize portable gaming, that it would play PS3 games via Remote Play, and that it would allow players to continue their progress on the go were ruled as misleading by the Federal Trade Commission.

The ruling, passed in November of last year, means that Sony has to offer a settlement to those who got a PS Vita before June of 2012.

Now, that settlement process begins, as a special website has been set up for those who want a piece of the settlement pie offered by Sony.

Three different offers are up for grabs

Those who got a PS Vita before June 2012 have to go to the aforementioned website, send in proof of purchase, and opt for one of three different settlement options. These include a 25 USD (23 EUR) check, a 25 USD (23 EUR) PlayStation Store credit voucher, or one of the three PS3 and PS Vita game bundles.

The game packs include three themes. There's the Action Adventure bundle, comprised of God of War Collection, Beyond: Two Souls, Twisted Metal, and Unit 13. There's the Family Friendly bundle composed of LittleBigPlanet 2, Puppeteer, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Modnation Racers: Road Trip. Last but not least, there's the variety pack that includes God of War Collection, LittleBigPlanet 2, Modnation Racers: Road Trip, and Unit 13.
