With each new day and a new round of leaked emails, Sony Pictures is driving itself deeper into a hole. The hackers group Guardians Of Peace, aka #GOP, broke into the Sony servers last month, and since then, they have been leaking sensitive data constantly. This also includes private emails between studio executives and talent.

Amy Pascal, Sony Pictures co-chairwoman, is perhaps the most exposed in this hacking scandal, as countless emails with her signature have been made public already, containing the kind of discourse she would have never wanted public if she had a choice.

In between bashing Angelina Jolie, calling writer Aaron Sorkin a broke and desperate fool, and making racist jokes about President Barack Obama, Pascal also had conversations with studio bosses about Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Gosling.

New emails confirm Sony is just like high school

DiCaprio didn’t come out of this looking too good. At one point, he was linked to the much-mediated “Jobs” biopic, to which Sony had the rights but which it eventually lost to Universal Pictures. He was supposed to play the Apple boss himself but he dropped out of the project eventually, for reasons unknown.

When Mark Gordon, the producer on the film, let Pascal know of DiCaprio’s decision, informing her that he had “just change[d] his mind” (so this wasn’t about the money he’d be making) and that this was “horrible behavior” on part of the actor, she replied with “Actually despicable.”

The Daily Beast confirms that this new leaked email exchange is legit.

In another email, Tom Rothman, head of TriStar productions, and Pascal laugh about Willow and Jaden’s New York Times interview, the one in which they claim to have the power to control time and go on the record saying that they write their own novels and music because nothing available on the market is “cool” enough for their fine tastes.

Rothman pleads with Pascal to “not let this family date your movies!!!” Sony and Will Smith, the father of these two teenagers, have had a very long and successful work relationship, going back to “Men in Black.”

Pascal may hate DiCaprio but she loves Gosling

Apparently, the only two actors Pascal doesn’t hate are George Clooney and Ryan Gosling. The former apologized to her in an email about the failure that was “Monuments Men,” considered one of the worst movies of the year.

The latter was, as of October this year, heavily courted by Sony. Pascal was willing to back Gosling for Paul Feig’s planned female “Ghostbusters” in exchange for his promise that he would consider a role in “Jobs” and “Sinister Six.”

So all those rumors from a couple of months ago about how Gosling was inching towards dropping his indie status by doing superhero movies weren’t inaccurate, it would seem. Either way, Pascal is really doubling over to convince Gosling’s talent manager that a partnership would be ideal for both at that time.

This past week has been especially difficult for Pascal, as her emails to other studio executives and producers and actors have been released online. In a statement released the other day, she apologized for the racist remarks she made about Obama, but was careful to stress that these conversations were never meant to be made public.
