Recorded AVCHD clips cannot be transferred to PlayMemories

Sony has outed firmware version 3.00 compatible with FDR-AX1E camcorders, which adds support for AVCHD Recording Mode, as well as a new Memory Stick and SD card media format function.

As a downside for those of you who keep it simple, Sony highlights that the camcorder won’t be able to transfer any recorded files stored on the MS or SD card using only a USB cable. However, you can still copy data through an external card reader, which is also quite an easy transfer method.

Moreover, bear in mind that AVCHD clips taken with Sony’s camcorder cannot be sent to “PlayMemories Home.” This feature is still in development and will be implemented along with a future update.

To continue with the changes, the present update resolves an audio recording problem that caused Lch and Rch to be recorded improperly when internal microphone was chosen as a recording device.

In addition to that, the FDR-AX1E is now compatible with HDMI 2.0 4K/59.94P (50P) transmission system, as well as able to playback 4K image quality on TV units that support this feature.

Finally, when it comes to installing this update, simply save and extract the downloadable archive, copy the .bin file onto an empty memory card, and insert it into the camera (make sure it’s powered off).

Now go to Menu > System > Version Up > Execute, connect the power adapter, agree with the next update-related dialogs, and allow the camcorder to update itself. Also, bear in mind that this process is performed in two stages that should take around 12 minutes to complete, so be patient.

That being said, download Sony FDR-AX1E Camcorder Firmware 3.00, take into account all aforementioned aspects, apply the package, and constantly check our website in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
