Sony has just confirmed that it will close PlayStation Mobile support on July 15, 2015. The announcement doesn't really comes as a surprise, given that the Japanese company had already ended support for the Android service back in August 2014.

So, beginning July 15, 2015, Sony will cease distribution of content, while in-app purchases / re-download of purchased content will be discontinued after September 10, 2015.

According to Sony, PlayStation Mobile for Android, the service that allows users to access PSM content on multiple PlayStation certified devices will be removed from Google Play Store and will become unavailable for download after September 10, 2015.

However, keep in mind that you will still be able to access and play the PlayStation Mobile content you have purchased even after September 10, 2015, by activating your devices.

In order to activate your device, you should be connected to the Internet. Previously, content was automatically authenticated whenever the device connected to the Internet, but this will not happen after September 10, 2015, which is why you will need to follow a step-by-step guide.

After September 10, you won't be able to re-download any games you previously owned

For those who own PlayStation Certified devices, simply open the PlayStation Mobile application and launch any purchased PSM content between April 10, 2015 and September 10, 2015 to complete the authentication process.

Those who own a PS Vita will have to go to Settings / PSN / System Activation / PlayStation Mobile / Activate / OK, between March 10, 2015 and September 10, 2015.

Make sure that you have downloaded all the games that you want to keep because, after September 10, 2015, they won't be available for re-download anymore.

It's also worth mentioning that devices that are not authenticated before September 10, 2015 will be unable to access previously purchased PlayStation Mobile content after that date.
