“Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” that will reboot one of the most beloved film franchises of all times under Disney ownership and J.J. Abrams’ direction, doesn’t come out in theaters until December 2015. But Abrams is already itching to have it out to fans.

Abrams is one of the most secretive writers / directors working in Hollywood right now, which occasionally doesn’t work in his best interest. The Khan debacle from “Star Trek Into Darkness” is an example of how, sometimes, it’s best to just speak out on a rumor than to ignore it until the fans start making fun of you.

Abrams seems to have learned his lesson, because he tells the BBC that “some of the rumors” making the rounds about the direction of “Star Wars” are true. “I'm grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie,” he adds.

Obviously, he doesn’t say which rumors are true or not, but the most widely circulated one is that Han Solo (Harrison Ford) will be killed by Kylo Ren (believed to be played by Adam Driver), and many trade publications have taken his statement as confirmation for it.

Before we do the same, consider this: “Star Wars” is inarguably the most anticipated release of the year and it’s been subject to more rumors regarding its plot than we could count, assuming we wanted to. Obviously, since there are that many of them, some are bound to be true, if only partially.

Abrams isn’t exactly dishing big secrets here, is he now?

What he does say and is more specific is this: “We did the best we can to preserve the story for the audience, but it doesn’t always work.”
