While all the third-party Snapchat apps have been banned from Windows Phone Store, the developer of one of the most popular instant messengers has just released a new update for its Android and iOS apps.

According to TechCrunch, the update does not come with an official changelog attached to it, but developers have found a way to include explanations for each new feature inside the application.

There are two major features included in the update: Friend Emojis and Low-Light Camera. Both are explained for Snapchat users, so they can take advantage of them.

First of all, beginning this version of Snapchat, the application will only show these new Friend Emojis, which replace “Best Friends.” They will be shown on your screen of incoming snaps.

Each of these new emojis have been explained inside the app

As mentioned earlier, these new emojis have their meaning, which can be found inside Snapchat. For example, the Gold Heart means you're #1 Best Friends, so the person you send snaps to most sends snaps to you most too. Here are the rest of the newly launched emojis:

“- Grimace/Grit Teeth – You Have A Mutual #1 Best Friend – The person you send snaps to most is also who this person sends snaps to most; - Smile – One Of Your Best Friends – This is one of the people you send snaps to most; - Sunglasses – You Have A Mutual Best Friend – One of the people you send snaps to most is also one of the people this person sends snaps to most; - Smirk – You’re Their Best Friend But They’re Not Yours – You’re one of the people they send snaps to most, but they’re not one of the people you send snaps to most; - Fire – You Two Are On A Snapstreak – You and this person have sent snaps back and forth for the number of consecutive days shown.”

The low-light camera feature allows Snapchat users to turn on and off a low-light mode for the camera. The low-light mode can be enabled from a “Moon” icon that appears at the top of the camera.
