Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has just received the first details about its next expansion, which is called the Bright Lord and focuses on the past of Celebrimbor, the Elven craftsman, who raises an army of Orcs in order to fight against the dark lord Sauron.

Shadow of Mordor delighted millions of fans when it appeared last October across a variety of platforms, telling an original story set in the Lord of the Rings universe that focused on Gondor ranger Talion. While defending his realm, he gets wraith-like powers thanks to the spirit of Celebrimbor, the craftsman behind the One True Ring.

Shadow of Mordor was Talion's story, but through flashbacks and other things, Celebrimbor's deeds were also brought into the spotlight.

The next DLC focuses on Celebrimbor and his conflict with Sauron

Now, with the next big expansion for the new game, which is called the Bright Lord, developer Monolith Productions wants to focus particularly on the Elf character, according to GameSpot.

According to the developer, the add-on tells the tale of Celebrimbor's rebellion against Sauron, when he fled with the One True Ring and used it to raise an army of Orcs against the dark lord.

Lots of changes will be present in the add-on

Only the Elf character will be available and he'll be quite different than Talion, according to Monolith. He is more agile and faster, can take less punishment, and can unlock powerful ability combinations that enhance his Elven fighting style. The runes he can find in the game's world reach level 30 and special powers, like the domination one, can brainwash multiple Orcs at the same time.

Of course, the add-on also brings improvements to the Nemesis system, the star of Shadow of Mordor. The Orcs are much more powerful, their strengths and weaknesses are better distributed, and the battles will be much more intense. The Orc captains and warchiefs will be less likely to manipulate and the bosses are now level 25, which should result in some very challenging battles.

As of yet, the Bright Lord DLC for Shadow of Mordor doesn't have an actual release date, so expect to hear more soon enough.
