Reality star Scott Disick, best known as Lord Disick, the longtime partner and baby daddy of Kourtney Kardashian and a regular on the family’s series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, has willingly checked into rehab, it has emerged.

Disick has been struggling with alcoholism for years and it seems that he relapsed in recent months, based on ongoing reports in the tabloids. It was a recent, epic ranger in Atlantic City that served as his wake-up call.

Scott falls off the wagon, makes a pledge to get back up

Reports about Scott’s heavy drinking and how he was in need of a specialized intervention have been around since before last summer, when they picked up speed when Kourtney kicked him out of the house after he went on a drinking binge and went missing for days.

In recent months, despite the fact that he and Kourtney welcomed their third child into the world, Scott continued to party like he was 20 again, often hopping on a plane and going away for days in a row with male pals, leaving her home alone to handle the kids.

The last time he did that was this last weekend, when he went to Atlantic City and completely made a fool of himself in public. Photos available online show him pouring champagne on random girls, downing shot after shot, and pretty much acting as if he were out of control.

Scott turns to alternative treatment for help

“I realize my issues are bigger than me, and I’m ready to truly remedy this struggle I continue to battle,” Disick says in a statement cited by Us Weekly.

As per the same report, he is determined to get his problem completely checked this time, agreeing to an alternative treatment that includes the use of an African plant said to “cure” addiction. The tree is called Iboga and has psychedelic properties, with Ibogaine (the hallucinogen) believed to help curb cravings for alcohol and drugs.

As part of his ongoing efforts to kick his addiction and stay sober, Disick will be residing at the Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica for an unspecified period, the celebrity publication reports.

Kourtney, who has been pushing him to go to rehab for months now, is yet to comment on his decision, but we can assume she’s supportive of him, as always.
