Microsoft is going through a major reorganization process and the new CEO Satya Nadella is the pioneer of a new approach that puts the focus on customers and the feedback they submit.

As part of this massive transformation plan, Nadella wants Microsoft to step closer to its users and become the kind of company that works together with clients on future products, thus making sure that all its solutions, no matter if they are software or hardware, can address their needs in a much more effective manner.

In an interview with USA Today, Nadella explains that he wants to change the world’s perception of Microsoft, trying not only to make the software giant loved by users worldwide, but also to offer them the solutions they need to get things done.

Nadella is only the third Microsoft CEO after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, but as compared to the first two, he is the first who tried to put consumers at the core of everything. In the Steve Ballmer-era, Microsoft was often criticized by users for not listening to their opinions, but that’s going to change with the new CEO at the helm of the company, Nadella promises.

Microsoft will help you get things done

Ever since he took over from Steve Ballmer, Nadella has explained that Microsoft needs to be “obsessed over customers,” and although he admitted that such an approach could change users’ perception of the company, it’s more important for the software giant to be appreciated for the products it offers.

“Of course I want (Microsoft) to be loved, but not in a vacuum. In our case it has to be, ‘OK, they are the ones giving me the tools to build my business, to help me shine in my profession, to help me create great success,’” he said in a statement.

Nadella says that Windows 10 could play a key role in this regard, as the operating system will be the first major project putting the users at the core of everything.

What’s more, Nadella says, Windows 10 won’t be just an operating system, but a complete revamp of the entire platform that could bring this particular software solution and many more devices than ever before.

“[It’s the] the start of a complete generation of Windows that's as much a service as it is an OS that runs across many devices,” he said.

Windows 10 is already available in a preview flavor for users worldwide and it indeed brings many user-requested features, including a new Start menu, multiple desktops, and other subtle improvements in terms of looks.

Many others will be implemented before the spring 2015 launch, including a desktop version of the Cortana personal assistant that will allow users to perform a number of tasks with voice commands.
