Many Android users hate Samsung for including a lot of bloatware on its smartphones. The company's S apps are well known among those who own Samsung handsets powered by Android, but only a few are actually useful.

S Health is one of those apps that many Android users like to take advantage of. Before Samsung launched its new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones, rumor had it that the South Korean company was planning to drop all bloatware from its flagship handsets in favor of Microsoft's apps.

Although that didn't really happen, both flagships come with a reduced number of S apps. The new S Health application is part of Galaxy S6's software, and this does make sense since Microsoft doesn't have something better to offer in this regard.

Now that the Galaxy S6 made its debut on the market, Samsung has decided to release the S Health application to the general public. This means that Android users can now download the application directly from the Google Play Store.

The app is not intended for use in diagnosis of diseases

However, there's a catch. The new S Health application is only compatible with devices powered by the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, since it has been especially created to comply with the new Material Design environment.

Samsung's S Health application is compatible with accessories like Samsung Gear and other third-party devices that allow users to measure and manage their health data.

According to the developers, the app natively supports more than 70 languages, English, French and Chinese among them. The English language version is available for the rest of the world.

It's also worth mentioning that Samsung firmly states that “S Health is intended for fitness and wellness purposes only and is not intended for use in diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.”

You can now download S Health for Android for free via Google Play store. As we already mentioned, the application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop and up.
