Carriers absolutely love the new Samsung phones

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have been out for almost a week and a half and they seem to have already gathered a lot of positive feedback.

In a recent news story, we told you that the Korean tech giant was said to have already registered up to 20 million pre-orders for its latest flagships from carriers.

This is not surprising at all considering that high-placed folks like T-Mobile’s CEO have been pretty open about the fact that they love the new Galaxy S6 phones.

Samsung may have a huge order under its belt, but will it be able to deliver so many units in time?

Before the new phones actually went live, a rumor started going around claiming that Samsung would face serious challenges with the production of the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung increases initial production volume

A new report coming out of G for Games suggests that we shouldn't be all too worried about it and that Samsung will be able to deliver the devices in time. According to the new information, Samsung has apparently bumped up the production volume for the two smartphones to a whopping 13 million units.

Breaking down the numbers, 5 million of these units will be produced in March, while the other 8 million will be manufactured in April. Out of the total 13 million, 4 million will be for the Galaxy S6 Edge (1 million in March and 3 million in April).

But if we’re to take into account earlier information, Samsung still seems to be 7 million short from reaching the purported 20 million order from carriers.

Initially, Samsung wanted to send into production 12 million units, but given the fact that the two products received such a warm welcome, the Korean tech giant decided to supplement the ranks with an extra 1 million.

One thing is certain though: once they launch, the phones will sell like hot cakes, but we still can’t picture a scenario where one would actually want to purchase one of the new devices and wouldn't be able to because the gadgets would be out of stock.
